Spread the word!

For our first holiday gift guide of the season, I’ll be sharing about something that I know plenty about, being a work at home mom. I’ve been a work at home mom for just over a year now, and there’s so much that I didn’t know when I first started. One of the biggest shocks was how hard it would be for others to understand what I do and how it could be important or a “real” job.

Well, let me tell you on behalf of all work at home moms, what we do is absolutely real. So, do you have a work at home mom in your life that you want to really make smile this Christmas? Are you looking for a gift that’s practical, tells her you are proud of what she’s doing, and she’s sure to love? You’ve come to the right place! This holiday gift guide is all about gifts that are perfect for the work at home mom in your life! I know, because these are all gifts that I would love to receive! *not so subtle hint to my family reading*

Holiday Gift Guide: Work at Home Moms

It can be hard knowing what to get for the people in your life. This holiday gift guide will help you find the perfect gift for any work at home mom!

Pretty Planners!

Okay, I’ll just be honest. As a work at home mom I am forever trying to be more organized, and there is little that gets me more excited than a fresh new pretty planner! It helps us feel like we’re in control even when our world is getting a bit crazy. When you’re looking for a planner, make sure it has plenty of space for a busy mama plus all her work activities!

PlanAhead Mom’s 18 Month Planner – This planner has such a cute design, any work at home mama will love carrying it around! Somehow, office supplies just become easier to use when they’re adorable. Plus, it’ll be a surprise to everyone which cover you get!

Do It All Mom Planner – Two of my close friends have used this planner for a few years and swear by it. It has 6 different sections for each day. One of my friends uses one section for her, her husband, and her four daughters. This is actually the planner I’ll be getting for next year, and I plan to have sections for family, homeschooling, the blog, freelancing, to-do’s, and notes. I’m incredibly excited about all the space!

EPIC BLOG: One-Year Editorial Planner – If you’re looking for more of a strict blogging calendar, you can’t go wrong with Epic Blog from ByRegina. Keep track of monthly themes, blog post ideas, goals, and stats all in one place. Honestly, if the work at home mama on your shopping list is a blogger, you probably can’t go wrong with anything from ByRegina!

Business Books

I may be a business book hoarder. The last year while I’ve been working to grow several different work at home businesses from direct sales to the blog to freelance writing, reading different inspirational books from people who have been there has helped me a ton! Sometimes being a work at home mom can feel like no one understands, but getting her one of these books will give her a warm hug from the author who knows just what she’s going through.

Craft, Inc: The Ultimate Guide to Turning Your Creative Hobby into a Successful Business – If your work at home mama is a crafter, this book would make an incredible Christmas gift! This book is a how-to guide for the not so business-savvy crafters. It covers social media, pricing, photography, and so much more!

How To Blog For Profit: Without Selling Your Soul – This is actually one of my favorite blogging books available. A lot of people know that it’s possible to create an income from their blog, but don’t really know the steps to turning it into a reality. Ruth walks you step by step through her process which has grown her blog into a wildly successful business!

Balanced: Finding Center as a Work-at-Home Mom – I just downloaded this to my kindle, and I can’t wait to read it. If you ask any work at home mom what their biggest struggle is, I’m willing to bet she’ll answer “balance”. Do you put off that client’s email to snuggle your kids? Do you get a babysitter to catch up and meet a deadline? How does anyone do the dishes? All of this can be really overwhelming for work at home moms, so Tricia helps all of us find some balance in the chaos with this book!

Coffee.. Need I Say More?

Seriously, moms in general survive on coffee, but work at home moms take the addiction to a new level. We finally get our kiddos down for bed and we remember that we have a project with a deadline that must get done immediately. Without coffee, I’m fairly certain our heads would explode. You can’t go wrong with getting a cute coffee mug or even a gift card to her favorite coffee place. Extra bonus points if you’ll watch the kiddos while she goes to work at said coffee place for a few hours!

Go Away Funny Coffee Mug – Maybe I’m crazy, but I definitely feel like the coffee works better if it’s in a mug that makes me smile. Well this mug is as funny as it is true! Your work at home mama will get a kick out of drinking her coffee to an acceptable level multiple times a day. Might I suggest one or two in the morning, and another to get you through the nap-time slump?

Keurig Brewing System – If you want to go really fancy, why not go all the way with a nice keurig system? This thing makes the coffee for her with the push of a button. She will think of you every morning, as you are the provider of caffeine-heaven!

I’m A Mom, What’s Your SuperPower? Coffee Mug – Again, cute coffee mugs make the coffee taste better. It’s a fact, I just decided. Remind your work at home mama what a Super Mom she is with this adorable mug she can use every morning!

Technology

Here’s the thing. No matter what type of work at home mom job she’s doing, chances are she needs technology to do it! There is nothing worse than being up too late finishing up a project only to have your computer crash right before you hit save, or trying to edit cell phone photos that are way too low quality to look professional. It’s a technology age, and we work at home mama’s need the best tools of the trade!

Canon EOS Rebel T5 DSLR Camera – This is an item that is definitely on my wishlist! Whether you are shopping for a blogger, a crafter, or even an ebay seller, a solid DSLR camera is going to help them take their business to the next level. As the internet has improved, we’ve become an even more visual society (hello Pinterest, I’m talking to you) so grainy dark photos from an iPhone just don’t cut it anymore! Now, if you’re not a Canon fan, there’s also always a Nikon DSLR.

HP Stream 11.6-Inch Laptop – Whatever your work at home mom does, chances are it uses a computer. Whether she’s selling her products online, using social media to market her business, or her entire business is online like mine, she needs a good lap top. Desk tops are nice too, but trust me, a work at home mom these days needs to be able to work on the go. Whether it’s from a coffee shop or just from her kitchen, we need to connect to work wherever we are!

Kindle Fire – Like I mentioned above, we work at home moms need to be mobile, and sometimes there are places where it’s inconvenient to haul your entire lap top. Enter the tablet! It’s bigger than your phone screen, so you can use it for more than just updating social media, but it’s small enough to keep in your purse to use whenever you have unexpected time, like when you’re sitting in the pick up line at school! Right now, the Kindle Fire is on sale for less than $35 for Black Friday, so get it ASAP!

So these are just a few ideas of gifts for work at home moms. If you are a work at home mom, am I missing anything? What’s on your wish list?
