I’ve told you all forever that I’m not an activity mom, and that’s true. I hate mess, I am not very creative, and I don’t create Pinterest-worthy crafts.

However, my kids love activities, so I’ve been on a mission to create simple kids activities that are easy for moms and fun for kids!

With that, let’s chat about this awesome Apple Sudoku! It’s perfect for a fall apple unit study!

Fun Sudoku Apple Kids Activity

This simple sudoku apple activity is adorable and fun! It's kept simple for younger kids, and it helps get kids started on logic puzzles! It's perfect for an apple preschool unit!

Why Use Logic Puzzles?

Logic puzzles help kids develop reasoning skills! We love to use these puzzles to give Mr. C a brain teaser, and they’re even fun for me.

Logic puzzles are great to start in preschool, and you can use them with increasing difficulty up all the way through high school.

What is Sudoku?

Sudoku is a logic puzzle that is traditionally made up of a 9×9 grid of squares. Some numbers are filled in, and it is your job to fill in the remaining numbers. All sudoku puzzles have a set of rules. Typically:

  • Each row must have the numbers 1-9 with no numbers repeated.
  • Each column must have the numbers 1-9 with no numbers repeated.
  • Each 3×3 square must have the numbers 1-9 with no numbers repeated.

Now, that is a *bit* much for preschoolers! So with this apple sudoku puzzle, we used apple pictures, and our rules are simpler.

  • Each row must have each of the four apple pictures.
  • Each column must have each of the four apple pictures.
  • Each 2×2 square must have each of the four apple pictures.
