My kids might be a teeeeeensy bit obsessed with monsters. The ghosts and witches on Halloween can be fun, but really they’ve got nothing on scary monsters! Maybe it’s because I call my super active boys my mini-monsters occasionally.

Whatever the reason, I knew that with Halloween fast approaching we needed to have some monstrous fun in our homeschool this week. I decided we’d make this super simple & fun Frankenstein Halloween craft for kids, and it was perfect!

Why You Should Make This Frankenstein Halloween Craft for Kids

We have been working hard on fine motor skills in our homeschool this year, and the painting in this craft was the perfect way to practice! The kids worked their “pencil muscles” with the paintbrush, and they had to work on their attention to detail to make sure the whole plate was covered.

While your paper plate is drying, cut a half-circle out of construction paper to make Frankenstein’s hair. We used an extra plate to help guide our cutting to make sure it would fit correctly.

Make some jagged cuts out of the flat edge of your half-circle to look like strands of hair.
