Spread the word!

Every year around Christmas and his birthday, my mom asks Mr. C what types of presents he wants, and without fail he always says, “Oh I don’t know, Nima! I would really like some school stuff!”

Now, my mom is an unapologetic toy lover, so his answer nearly gives her a heart attack. Every single year. So what is a grandma to do with a homeschooling kiddo that’s really obsessed with school stuff? How can you spoil your grandkid when they can’t think of any toys to ask for?

Enter this holiday gift guide! I’m going to share some of my top picks for educational gifts for homeschooling kids that are mom, kid, and even Nima approved!

Educational Gifts for Homeschooling Kids

Looking for the perfect gift for a homeschooling child in your life? Look no further! This gift guide is filled with educational gift any homeschooled kid would love!

Books

Okay, this might be painfully obvious, but you can’t go wrong with getting some books for the homeschooled kids in your life. Mr. C is an early reader, so books are an obvious choice for him. However, even A-Man and Baby M love to flip through their favorite stories!

One of my early childhood favorites is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

A-Man and Mr. C both love listening to Magic Tree House Books, and one will likely be the first chapter book that Mr. C reads independantly.

Mr. C is also fairly obsessed with space, so the National Geographic Kids First Big Book of Space is definitely on our list!

Science Activities

Mr. C gets incredibly excited about different science topics. He loves to learn about plants, and he’s requested that we explore and learn about volcanoes, space, and bugs as soon as we can. So a sure way to his heart during the holidays? Different science activities and kits.

He loves The Magic School Bus (as do I!) so The Magic School Bus Chemistry Lab would be a great bet for kids from 5 all the way up to 12 years old. *Bonus* This could be a full year’s curriculum, so it’s also a gift to the homeschooling mama!

This My First Outer Space Science Kit is perfect for little scientists on your list! They can make a glow in the dark star pattern, and it’s perfect for preschoolers.

The Magic School Bus Nature and Bugs Science Kit has everything you need to explore nature and the creepy crawlies that live there. While this isn’t exactly my cup of tea, as a mom to three boys, I’ve had to get used to bugs being a big part of our life!

Fun School Supplies

Okay, I know that you’re thinking I’m crazy right about now, but hear me out. I’m a serious office supply nerd. There are few things that make me more excited than freshly sharpened pencils, brand new planners waiting to be filled out, and pretty colored index cards. I’ve recently learned, kids are the same way. Apparently it’s just more fun to complete your handwriting practice with rainbow pencils.

Have a Frozen fan on your list this year? (Okay, really, who doesn’t?) This Disney Frozen School Supply Notebook Pencil Set is a sure winner! Your little princess will have a blast finishing up her school work with Anna and Elsa supplies!

Mr. C and A-Man are both huge fans of Paw Patrol, so I flipped when I saw this Paw Patrol Backpack and Accessories Set. Lots of homeschoolers won’t necessarily need a backpack, but since we take school work back and forth to the boys’ biological dad’s house we need one for Mr. C. Plus, this one comes with a big coloring book!

We haven’t quite hit the stage of using a calculator in math yet with Mr. C, but I know as soon as we do he would love this Marvel Ultimate Spiderman 7pc Fun Calculator Set. Spiderman is a favorite super hero around here, so any time that we can incorporate him into our school work it’s a definite win!

Art Supplies

I will be the first to admit that I am not an artsy parent. Because of that, I struggle with adding regular art into our homeschooling routine. Mr. C and A-Man, however, both love to do art activities, so I try to make an effort. Having good quality art supplies ready makes that much easier!

This 142-Piece Wood Art Set looks like it would be the perfect gift for a homeschooler that you love. There are tons of different supplies included, so no matter what types of medium your artist prefers, there’s something here for them!

This year we plan to go a step passed play doh and get some real Modeling Clay for Mr. C and A-Man to make fun new creations. This set has 24 different colors, so they can make anything!

I don’t know if it’s just our homeschooling family, but we are constantly running out of paint or having our paint dry out. Getting a set of paints like the Crayola Washable Kids Paint is sure to be a hit with the homeschooled kids on your list. PS. Make sure it’s washable, and the mama will thank you too!
