Spread the word!

If you know me in real life you’ll know that Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday, and it always has been! There’s something about the whole season that just brings so much joy. Growing up Christmas was always a huge deal in our house. We’d start writing our wishlists on Thanksgiving and we’d wake up way too early to get to our presents!

See, I didn’t grow up a Christian. Our house had a nativity set and about 247 Santas. As I got older and I found my faith, and even more now as I have children, I’ve struggled with how to balance the extreme fun of Christmas that I had growing up with the true meaning of Christmas that is so important.

And really, that’s been hard with every holiday. I’m (trying!) to raise my kids in a Christian home, and that means that I need to balance my own holiday traditions with teaching my kids the Truth. That’s a lot to ask a relatively new Christian! Luckily, I found some really great books that help to teach the Truth behind holidays.

Christian Holiday Books That Teach Truth

It can be hard to find Christian holiday books that teach the truth about the holidays, but these are adorable and age-appropriate!

This post was sponsored by As the Stars of the Sky. I was given these books to review and compensated for my time, but I was not required to leave a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own, see full disclosure for details.

About The Holiday Love Letters Book Series

The Holiday Love Letters Book Series is a fun series of children’s book that teach Truth about the holidays. So far in the series, there are three books: It’s Not About You, Mr. Pumpkin, It’s Not About You, Mrs. Turkey, and It’s Not About You, Mr. Santa Claus.

The books are written by a wonderful Christian lady who believes passionately that children’s literacy is absolutely vital. So all proceeds from the Holiday Love Letters Book Series go to her non-profit organization As the Stars of the Sky.

There are also two more books set to come out in 2017: It’s Not About You, Mr. Easter Bunny and It’s Not About You, Mrs. Firecracker.

The books teach the true meaning and importance of holidays, and they teach the origins of various traditions surrounding that holiday. Even I learned some new things!

What We Liked About These Christian Holiday Books

We loved that the Holiday Love Letter Books taught the true meaning behind holidays in a respectful way. Like I mentioned before, I’m a Christian who still loves including Santa in Christmas, so I loved that the traditions that families may be used to were respected.

We also loved that these Christian holiday books have beautiful illustrations! They’re written in an engaging way, and even A-Man who hates books was excited to listen to the stories. He especially loved the Halloween book.

It was also a really nice and simple way to talk about traditions. We try to be very open with our kids about what we believe and that others believe differently than us. These books are written on a level that kids can understand and it really gets the conversations going.

And finally, I really liked that there was an invitation to accept Jesus at the end of each of the books. As a new-ish Christian, it can be hard to help your child find the words to say, and these books did a great job of that.
