Spread the word!

I started sharing my blogging traffic and income reports in January of this year while I was still making less than $100. I wanted to show people that smaller bloggers do exist, and we are bringing in a bit of money. I’ve grown a lot since that first income report, and I’m quite proud of that.

If you’re a newer blogger or you’re just starting to look at monetizing, I hope that you find this report helpful! If there’s anything you would like more information about, leave me a comment and let me know!

I share blogging traffic and income reports each month to encourage bloggers. Here's blog traffic and income report for July 2016!

What Worked and What I’m Changing

What worked in July? Not much. My pageviews are down, but like I said in June, I expected it. Summer traffic for homeschool blogs almost always goes down, so I’m just trying to ride the wave. I’m excited for back to school and holiday traffic!

I am changing a few things in August, so I’m excited to see what kind of results I can get! First, I’m going to try to post more often. I’m also hiring out chore threads so that I can focus on content creation and VA work. Then, I’m also trying to add some unit studies to the blog to increase homeschooling readers.

I share blogging traffic and income reports each month to encourage bloggers. Here's blog traffic and income report for July 2016!

Blogging Income $368.28

Income Sources

  • MediaVine Ads: $67.51
  • Amazon Affiliates: $9.78
  • Other Affiliates: $21
  • Sponsored Posts (iHN and Influence Central): $215
  • Products (sales from my shop): $55

What Worked and What I’m Changing

I made a bit less in July than I did in June, but with the decrease in traffic I expected the decrease in income. I was glad that I had a few sponsored posts in the month, and I made a few affiliate sales, which was nice. I’m also still really excited to be making some sales with my shop!

In August, I’m hoping to raise traffic, which will increase ad revenue from MediaVine. I’m also writing about some specific curriculum, so I’m hoping to increase affiliate income that way. And I’m going to be adding at least one, but hopefully 2-3 unit study printable packs to the shop. (You can check out the first one here) I also have a few sponsored posts lined up for August already.

Also, I know that I keep these reports to blog-specific income only, but it’s worth noting that I’m doing a lot of VA work lately, so that’s taking up a fair bit of time, and it’s helping to pay for my expenses.

Blogging Expenses $279.40

I haven’t shared my blog expenses before, but I think it’s important to give you a realistic view of how much I’m spending to keep this blog going and keep bringing the income in. It also is important to keep in mind that these expenses apply to my blog, my Fundanoodle business, and my VA work.

Monthly Recurring Expenses $166.99

  • Hosting: $22
  • ConvertKit: $29
  • MeetEdgar: $49
  • Easy Product Display: $6.99
  • VA for Chore Threads: $60

One Time Expenses for July $112.41

Goals for August

In August I’m hoping to get 2-3 new products in my shop, increase pageviews to get over 20k, and bring in $500 with the blog alone in August. I’m also taking a whole long weekend off in August, so I’m spending a lot of time trying to get ahead so that I can spend a weekend unplugged.

Specifically I’m trying to post a ton, including at least 2 unit studies, but hopefully three. I’m also working on creating landing pages for the different categories on my blog. So, a ton of content-creating on top of VA work. I am still working on my Autism A-Z eBook, but it’s taking a bit longer than I anticipated.

So that’s my report for July. I’m hoping for a really successful August, and I want to thank you for sticking around on my journey even though these reports aren’t very exciting. You can check out all of my blogging traffic and income reports here.
